Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

The app has no user accounts and no registration. The only personal information the app collects is through the optional Submit Event form:

• Email address (required) — used only to follow up on your submission if needed.
• Your name (optional) — included with the submission for context.

Submission data is sent to Black Mountain Live and used solely to review and add the submitted event to the calendar. It is not sold or shared with third parties.

Data the App Fetches

The app makes outbound requests to the following services:

• Event, venue, and category data — fetched from blackmountainlive.com/api/v1. This is publicly available information about local events in Black Mountain, NC.
• Weather data — fetched from api.open-meteo.com, a free public weather API. No API key or user identifier is sent.

Fetched event and weather data is held in memory while the app is open and discarded when the app closes.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores two types of data locally on your device using your device's standard app storage:

• Saved events — events you bookmark are stored locally so they persist between app sessions. This data never leaves your device.
• Reminder preferences — if you enable event reminders, a small record is stored locally to track which notifications have been scheduled so they can be cancelled if you remove a bookmark. This data never leaves your device.

All locally stored data is removed if you uninstall the app.

External Links

Tapping links such as Directions, Visit Website, or social media buttons opens your device's browser and navigates to a third-party site (Google Maps, a venue website, Facebook, etc.). Those sites operate under their own privacy policies. Black Mountain Live does not control or track activity on external sites.

Device Permissions

The app does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, or contacts.

Notifications — the app may ask permission to send local notifications if you choose to set a reminder for a saved event. This permission is optional and only requested when you tap "Remind me." No remote push notifications are sent.

Analytics & Tracking

The app contains no analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or any other third-party tracking software.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Because no personal data is collected from any user, the app is safe for general audiences.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
